Design inspired by ribbons decorating ceremonial poles that escorted the Inca when he ventured outside of his capital, Cuzco, in today's Peru. The Inca was the leader of one the world's most prosperous civilizations and ruled Western South America until the Spanish conquest. This ring is handcrafted by us in California from 14 karat gold filled and sterling silver wires, it is stamped 14K/20. We construct each piece from wires which are shaped into our design, coiled, cut and solder as rings (if you look carefully you may see the soldering joint showing is handmade). As a final step the ring is carefully heat-treated, this last time-consuming step does not add to its beauty, but it allows the ring to remain malleable so it can easily be sized for a perfect fit.
